Exciting Job Opportunity for an experienced Small Animal Vet to join Westway Vets in our 50th anniversary year

About Us:

Our friendly, 15-site practice has been taking care of pets across the North East since 1975. We have branches across Tyne and Wear, Durham and Northumberland which are supported by our Tier 3 RCVS hospital in Newcastle Upon Tyne and we’re looking for an experienced vet to join our friendly team.

Our hospital is located in central Newcastle which is very close to the beautiful Northumberland coastline, the City of Durham and the North Pennines. The city is well connected to London and Scotland via the east coast trainline and well served by the city airport.

The practice currently holds an Investors in the Environment Silver Award.

The Role:

• Working as part of a large, friendly team of experienced vets (including multiple certificate holders) and highly skilled veterinary nurses.
• 4 day working week
• 1 in 4 Saturdays
• Approximately 1 in 15 Sunday day shifts (with time back in lieu)
• Working between our main hospital and our branches

Our practice offers:

• An RCVS tier 3 hospital with 24-hour emergency care including a dedicated night team
• An ISFM Gold Standard feline unit
• All of the usual equipment including a CT scanner and laparoscopy
• Certificate holder led clinics in Ultrasonography, Dentistry, Dermatology, Behaviour
• An enthusiastic team of clinical directors; all have whom have worked at the practice since graduation (a total of over 70 years of combined experience at Westway Vets!)

• 4 day working week

• Approximately 1 in 15 Sunday day shifts (with time back in lieu)
